Striped volumes can contain from 2 to 32 disks. Data is written to and read from multiple disks simultaneously, increasing disk performance. Data is written (striped) in 64 KB blocks. Striped volumes do not provide any fault tolerance. If one or more of the disks in a striped volume fails, all data on the entire volume is lost. Striped volumes are also known as RAID 0. To create a striped volume, complete the following steps: 1. In Disk Management, right-click the unallocated space on one of the disks on which you want to create the striped volume, and then select New Volume. 2. On the New Volume Wizard welcome page, click Next. 3. On the Select Volume Type page, click Striped, and then click Next. Note that you must have multiple dynamic disks with unallocated space for Striped to be an option. 4. On the Select Disks page, select the disks to be included in the striped volume.
